Already about a year ago we came together to create the citizen driven Brussels bikenode network. see project site)
One year after , we can already see that this utopic idea has become a reality, and that the post 2020 world is definitely more cyclist and more recreatinal. The cyclist infrastructure has been improved in Brussels as well (new bridges etc...)
A citizen update is deemed needed. This one will be different than 2020 : the network exists + we will be able to meet in presence/ hybrid mode + we will include the cafés / repair shops.
Last year everything was on ZOOM and digital, this year we will be moving to a hybrid version: physical meeting with online attendance possible, and using the slack intranet channel to exchange over the summer. We will update the digital recreational network according to the classic bikenode network criteria (security, comfort, enjoy), the new bike infrastructure like bike bridges, and better linking with recreational stops like bikecafés.
